Your week at Camp Sertoma

Welcome to Camp Sertoma

We're looking forward to hosting registered campers at Camp Sertoma for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children (at Millstone 4-H Center, Ellerbe, NC) this year.

Please make sure you have completed all required forms. You should have received these via email, along with the information posted here. Please be advised that any child who does not have ALL of the required paperwork in place BEFORE the start of camp on Sunday, June 24, may not be allowed to stay at the camp.

Drop Off and Pick Up –

***PLEASE NOTE OUR LOCATION FOR SUMMER 2018***  For those of you who are driving to and from camp, you can mapquest or google directions to the camp by entering the address 1296 Mallard Drive, Ellerbe, NC 28338.  You can also obtain more specific directions by visiting Millstone 4-H Camp's website

Please note - the camp is not in the town of Ellerbe; that is just the mailing address. If you get lost or need to contact a staff member during the week of camp only, you can call the camp office at 910-652-5905.

Sunday, June 24th: you may bring your child to camp between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. for registration.

Please do not arrive early or late! You will want to be prepared to stand in line with your child for a short period of time while all the campers are processed through the registration line.

Friday, June 29th: Campers may be picked up between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.

Please be prepared for a short wait while campers are checked out and released to you.
***IMPORTANT*** For your camper's safety, please be sure that the person who is picking up your child, if it is not you personally, is a name which is listed on your custody release instructions. We also ask that that person present a photo ID.

What to Pack

All campers are required to bring certain items to camp, including bedding, bath towels and a week's worth of clothing.

  • Campers ages 8-14 will sleep outside under the stars one night at main camp. Night-time temperatures can drop, so a sleeping bag is essential.
  • Campers at main camp will have the opportunity to ride horses. Campers are required to wear long pants to protect their legs from chafing against the saddle.
  • PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND REVIEW THE "WHAT TO PACK" LIST BELOW FOR A COMPLETE LIST OF WHAT TO BRING (AND NOT BRING) TO CAMP.

Camper Code of Conduct

Camp Sertoma for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children is planned, conducted, and supervised by the Camp Sertoma Committee of NC/VA/MD and staff of Millstone 4-H Center. All campers are responsible for their conduct to those supervising the camping activity.

  • PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND REVIEW THE "CODE OF CONDUCT" DOCUMENT BELOW FOR SPECIFIC GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCT.
